Throughout this course, students will do the following:
• Become more proficient in writing, grammar, and vocabulary
• Gain reading, listening, and comprehension skills
• Read a variety of short literary works
• Read grade-level appropriate novels including Diary of Anne Frank and Call of the Wild
• Become grounded in various themes in literature such as “friendship” and “choices”
• Write grade-level appropriate essays, reports, and analysis of literature
• Continue developing the writing process – prewriting, proof reading, rewriting, reports
